Our Commitment to Sustainability: a small change to your sample and in-process analysis with a big impact for the environment

Customers around the world that are using our reliable test strips for environmental and food & beverages sample & in-process analysis can now reduce their environmental footprint.

For over 50 years, we have been providing our customers with trustworthy MQuant® test strips that enable semi-quantitative determination of pH, ions, and other compounds directly at sampling or during in-process testing. As we continue to expand our product offerings, we are also committed to reducing our environmental impact.

Minimizing our usage of plastic and implementing more sustainable packaging are two key areas we are focusing on to reduce our footprint. Given the considerable usage of test strips in labs around the world, our aim is to encourage a responsible consumption and production for our MQuant® test strips.

Some of the adjustments are:

Waste reduction

  • Plastic savings and material reduction by decreasing product size and weight,  saving roughly 8% of the material needed
  • Using 60% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 40% internal aluminum scrap for packaging, aligned with our SMASH packaging program

Digital Instruction leaflet

  • Provided digitally via a QR code on the packaging, leading to the My M Safety app, avoiding more than 2 metric tons of paper usage per year.

Products that benefit from a meaningful reduction of their environmental footprint or are aligned with other sustainability goals are identified as “Greener Alternative Products” in our portfolio using a green icon. The test strips that have been evaluated for product improvements are identified as “Greener Alternative Products” within the category of “Re-engineered Products”. Our product design and sustainability teams are continually looking at opportunities to improve. We believe that small changes can lead to significant effect.
