Optimising GCxGC for petroleum analysis using a free tool
Oct 02 2018
LECO’s Simply GCxGC™ method development tool is designed for both the new user looking to get started with GCxGC, as well as for the experienced user who wants to streamline their analysis. This free tool walks users through the necessary steps of creating a GCxGC method from scratch, or converting an existing 1D GC method to GCxGC. In our latest poster, Optimizing GCxGC Parameters for Petroleum Analysis Using a Free Web-Based Tool, we walk you through the experimental process of translating an existing analysis into an optimized GCxGC method for a sample of diesel fuel. Calculations that maximise use of two-dimensional space and minimise analyte wrap-around are applied to user-controlled parameters to make the most of peak-capacity increases and further enhance the chromatographic resolution gains from the additional dimension of separation.
