Test Gas Blender Ideal Tool for Sensor Testing
May 31 2012
KIN-TEK’s (USA) AutoBlend (linear arrangement shown) is a multi-channel, computer controlled, gas blending system for creating complex test gas mixtures. Six independently controlled channels using permeation or diffusion tubes add trace concentration components to matrix gas. Each channel can contain up to 8 compounds in disposable permeation tubes. Two additional (and optional) dynamic headspace modules add higher concentrations of common mixtures, or low volatility substances to the test mixture.
A secondary dilution feature allows the system to be used for a wide concentration range from high parts-per-million down to low parts-per-billion. An optional humidification module is used to add humidity to the final mixture.
A key feature of the AutoBlend is that the output from each channel can be adjusted independently so that the concentration of each trace component group can be set independently. This allows automated operation of statistically designed factorial test programs, making the AutoBlend an ideal tool for sensor testing and qualification, catalyst sensitivity research, odour research, and similar applications requiring a range of complex test gas mixtures.
