New handheld water quality meters
Aug 13 2019
HORIBA Instruments have recently launched an exciting new range of feature-rich, functional, yet affordable, handheld water quality meters – the LAQUA 200 Series. This fifth generation of LAQUA handheld meters comprises a total of ten 220 and 210 models.
All LAQUA 200 Series meters feature an easy-to-read display with bright white LED backlighting that illuminates the LCD screen automatically when the meter is in operation.
The LCD screen conveniently shows all essential information such as parameter, measurement value, temperature, mode of operation, reading stability indicator and electrode status indicator, which can be immediately viewed with one quick glance.
In calibration, the smiley face symbol icon annunciator serves as a reading stability indicator, making it easier for users to determine and confirm stable readings crucial for accurate calibration. In measurement, auto stable, auto hold and real time reading mode options are available.
Electrode status indicator on the screen provides information on the electrode condition from recent calibration. It is updated after every calibration point is completed and is available in all models. Detailed calibration data is simultaneously stored in the meter for viewing and printing.
The meters are self-diagnosing and display brief but straightforward messages that aid users in carrying out fast troubleshooting and applying corrective actions.
LAQUA 220 models are GLP-compliant with date and time stamp on calibration and measurement data. Using appropriate communication cables, these models can also be connected to printer and computer. Data acquisition software will be available for transferring data to computer.
The LAQUA 200 series meters are ergonomically designed, compact, and programmed with simplified yet efficient user interface for smooth and hassle-free testing in the lab and in the field. The meter housing is made of polycarbonate with an additional layer of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), known to be long lasting and recyclable, which offers superior grip and high resistance to impact, dirt, and scratches.
Meter housing design also incorporates electrode holder which accommodates up to two electrodes – one on each side of the meter. LAQUA 200 series meters are IP67 rated and include a built-in foldable stand which facilitates convenient meter usage and storage.
