New portable quadrupole analyser provides laboratory precision to field based environmental applications
Mar 21 2022
Hiden Analytical have launched the new pQA portable quadrupole analyser, a highly versatile mass spectrometer with a range of interchangeable sampling inlets to cater for a wide range of applications.
MIMS inlets enable the analysis of dissolved species in groundwater, fermentation cultures, soil samples, and applications in which the analysis of dissolved species in liquid samples is necessary. The pQA is ideal for gas analysis applications with small sample volumes as well as environmental applications that require detection of low concentration levels. This analyser has a mass range of 200 amu and sub ppb detection levels, with an optional extended mass range to 300amu available.
The pQA comes in a Pelican® case and can operate using a 12 V supply, battery or solar power for field use, or a 220 V supply for use in the lab.
Hiden’s pQA system was developed to be compact, lightweight and portable to extend the capabilities to perform applications of high sensitivity, high dynamic range multi-gas analysis by mass spectrometry in the field, by the river or sea, or in the lab.
