UK Launch for New Direct Mercury Analyser
Jan 01 2000
The HydraC is a fully automated mercury analyser employing thermal decomposition and atomic absorption for the rapid (5 minutes) direct analysis of liquid or solid samples without a need for acid digestion.
HydraC is designed to satisfy the requirements of the US EPA method 7473 and to address the needs of analysts who simply want to determine mercury without prior sample pretreatment.
The HydraC is a highly refined and sensitive instrument which incorporates numerous features that make its operation significantly more user friendly than earlier generation instruments.
Commenting on the launch of the HydraC, Dr Gareth Pearson, says âWe are very excited about the potential of this product. Features include its high sensitivity from the 25cm long optical path, an extended dynamic range and simplified sample loading as the selfregistering autosampler allows unrestricted access during sample loading.
âIt has automated scheduled maintenance, an ergonomic design, versatile 21CFR 11 compliant software, providing password protected access control electronic signatures, audit trail and data integrity.â
The new HydraC is also compatible with liquid or solid samples and has economical gas consumption.
Additional benefits include automatic sample weight entry (with an optional online balance). No corrosive chemicals are used and no hazardous waste produced.
