Envar secures garden waste contract
Apr 30 2010
The organisation will work with Woodfield's recycling to produce 10,000 tonnes of high-grade quality compost that will be certified to PAS100 Standards and the Compost Quality Protocol.
Envar development director Andrew Urquhart said: "We are delighted to be working closely with Warwickshire County Council and Woodfield's - we feel that this unique partnership will satisfy the county council's goals of increased recycling and beneficial use of waste material."
According to Woodfield's, the compost generated through the deal will be used primarily as an agricultural fertiliser.
In related news, a Preston-based composting firm was fined and ordered to pay court costs over its failure to comply with an enforcement notice issued by the Environment Agency.
The company had been asked to cut the amount of waste held on site, in accordance with the volumes set out in its environmental guidelines.
