Improve competence in safety and productivity in scientific and hazardous environments

Cogent Skills has charitable status and is a not-for-profit organisation. Through their industry-led programmes, they support the development of the skills and competences needed to work safely and productively in science-based and major accident hazard industries.

Cogent Skills has particular expertise in working with stakeholders and employers to develop industry guidance and training standards supporting businesses to achieve regulatory compliance. They have trained over 10,000 individuals across senior leadership, management and operational levels to develop the company’s awareness and understanding of Process Safety Management, how it applies to their business, and their role in improving performance and building a positive process safety culture.

Cogent Skills, who will exhibit at WWEM on stand 47, also assists businesses to benchmark their current approach to competence management; to identify the strengths and areas for improvement within their existing competence management processes; and supports management teams to develop robust policies, procedures and staff capability to underpin an effective and sustainable competence management system.
