CEM 2018 Conference Programme Unveiled

The Conference programme for CEM 2018 has been announced, with 51 speakers from 11 countries providing an opportunity for delegates to learn about the latest developments in emissions monitoring. Coming from academia, energy providers, regulators, process operators and commercial companies, the speakers will provide a broad range of perspectives across the most topical issues. Registration is now available at www.ilmexhibitions.com/cem.

Taking place in Budapest from 16th to 18th May, the CEM 2018 Conference will be accompanied by an Exhibition featuring many of the world’s leading providers of emissions measurement equipment and services. Day passes, including lunch, are available for those just wishing to visit the exhibition, network and see the latest products.

The first conference session will provide an overview of emissions regulation in the European Union and address a number of issues relating to industrial emissions, such as black carbon emissions characterisation. There will also be presentations on vehicle emissions, especially diesels, in addition to a comparison of emissions from road, river and sea transport.

The second session will provide an update on research and standardisation on the measurement of stack emissions in Europe. The performance of emissions measurements over the last decade will be assessed, and there will be a presentation on measurement uncertainty. Other speakers will cover issues such as calibration and quality assurance, and two speakers will address the measurement of HCl and GHGs.

On the second day of the event, there will be two parallel sessions. The first will address the monitoring and abatement of mercury and fine particulate emissions, followed by presentations on the monitoring of gaseous species at low concentrations (HCl, HF, NH3, SO3, CH4, N2O, CHOH, TOC). The alternative session will address fugitive and fence-line monitoring. Later in the afternoon, the two groups will merge to hear four presentations on innovative measurement technologies.

On the third and final day, the Conference will again focus on innovative technologies. The final three presentations, which conclude at 12 noon, will provide industrial case studies.

Abstracts are available for all of the presentations at the CEM 2018 website.
