Air Quality Monitoring
New low-cost sensor to simultaneously measure PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10
Jul 09 2020
Today, more and more individuals across the world are taking it upon themselves to measure their local air quality. With advancements in air sensor technology, smaller and more affordable monitors are now available, which means more monitors can be placed around a community to increase the amount of air quality data points. TSI is pleased to introduce the new BlueSky™ Air Quality Monitor.
BlueSky™ Air Quality Monitors are designed by measurement experts from TSI, a USA based company that has set the standards for precision instrumentation since 1961. The TSI team aimed to develop a connected solution for air monitoring that provided reliable, instantaneous data to urban communities working to minimise air pollution exposure. BlueSky™ Monitors are easy to integrate into existing infrastructure and the proprietary cloud-based platform, TSI Link™ Solutions, provides secure, remote monitoring. Each device can stream and display real-time live data from the cloud using Wi-Fi without installing software or an app. The platform can allow users to make their air quality measurements visible to anyone who has registered with the TSI Link™ community enabling the general public to participate in and make informed decisions about where they should walk, cycle, play and live.
Inside every BlueSky Monitor is a TSI factory-calibrated PM sensor for precise data. A unique laser-based light scattering particle sensor simultaneously measures particulate matter sizes PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10 as well as temperature and relative humidity. Equipped with self-diagnostics, device owners will receive notifications should a performance issue be detected, enabling them to quickly react and maintain data integrity.
BlueSky systems are easy to install, they can be mounted to any pole, fence, etc., exactly where you want it. They are also very easy to use: you can manage your BlueSky outdoor air quality monitor data and view instrument diagnostics on TSI Link™ Solutions. These devices have a high level of accuracy that you can depend on offering professional readings from a research-quality sensor calibrated to TSI standards. Operators can also scale efficiently as low cost of ownership allows users to strategically install more BlueSky monitors to provide better neighborhood-level, localised monitoring results.
