Protea’s New FTIR Success in China

Jan 03 2011

Protea (UK) are extremely pleased to announce the success of their Chinese Partners Palmary Technology of Beijing in winning orders for 3 FTIR based fixed Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems. Protea Ltd are working very closely with Palmary Technology to deliver 3 CEM Systems based on their own advanced FTIR gas analyser systems into China.

Nick Whitley, Protea’s International sales Manager, says “We are delighted that Palmary has been successful in winning these projects in the face of strong competition. This is our first major order into that market and we know from years of development and experience that our instrument with its high resolution FTIR spectrometer and sophisticated PAS chemometric spectral analysis software is ideally suited for this type of application. We are looking forward to working with Palmary Technology in the future to win even more business.”

The Palmary instruments have been supplied with Protea’s Combustion Suite Software pre-loaded onto the FTIR analyser. The powerful Combustion Suite Software not only provides a set of analysis methods for the common inorganic combustion gas species including hydrogen fluoride and ammonia, but also a number of organic components are included as well.

The preloaded software means that the instrument is prefect to be used in the Waste Incineration market where it is often a requirement to measure both acid gases combustion gases and VOCs together. This means that Palmary’s customers had no need to build up their own spectral models and that the instrument is ready to be immediately used.

Palmary’s customers will also have the benefit of Proteas’s new PasProsoftware with its open process control (OPC) application. This is a big advantage to users as it provides them with the latest industry-standard, data interface for state of the art communication and even remote internet based access to all the instruments software functionality.
