New Combined Wind Sensor With an Innovative Thermally Sensor Element
Jul 21 2010
With the new EOLOS, the Wilh. LAMBRECHT (Germany) has developed a new thermally wind sensor with outstanding properties. As with the classical hot wire anemometer the flow will be measured by the heat transport of the air stream. However completely new are the implemented technology of the sensor element as well as the applied measurement procedures.
In the thermally flow measurement, the two procedures of “the constant overheating” and “the constant stream” have become established. Both have got advantages and disadvantages. The developers of LAMBRECHT succeeded in combining the advantages of both procedures. Thus a universal applicable sensor has arisen which combines a good price-performance ratio with a very high measuring accuracy and measuring dynamic.
Seawater resistant aluminium, the optimal heating of the sensor housing as well as the high chemical resistance of all used materials allow the application of the sensor under almost all climatic conditions like offshore or cold climate locations.
Besides the wind speed and the wind direction, the EOLOS-IND measures the air temperature, air humidity, air pressure and the dew point. Together with a LAMBRECHT precipitation sensor the EOLOS also can record the rainfall.
Connected with the MLC of LAMBRECHT and the MeteoLCD or a PC together with the LAMBRECHT software SSDL the user of the EOLOS-IND has got a whether station at his disposal which is very precise, compact, robust, easy to mount and universally applicable.
