Process Hydrogen Monitor is Explosion Proof
Feb 16 2011
Instrumentation specialist Quantitech has announced the launch of a UL-certified explosion proof hydrogen analyser, the HY-OPTIMA™ 2700 In-line Process Hydrogen Monitor. Employing advanced solid-state sensor technology, the new instrument provides long-term hydrogen-specific process gas analysis.
Designed primarily for hazardous environments in the oil and gas, hydrogen production and chemical industries, the HY-OPTIMA™ 2700 is the latest development in the H2scan advanced range of accurate hydrogen leak detection and process gas monitoring solutions.
The HY-OPTIMA™ 2700 analyser is available as a standalone instrument or as part of a complete, integrated process monitoring system providing a wide measurement range from low concentrations up to 100%. The sensing device is a solid state sensor. It does not incorporate any consumables or moving parts and provides a 10 year expected lifespan. The HY-OPTIMA™ 2700 is implemented in an explosion-proof housing, eliminating the need for additional protection, and includes improved data logging capacity up to one year.
The 2700 line of analyzers includes models that can accurately measure hydrogen in process gas streams containing up to 20% by volume carbon monoxide and up to 10% by volume of hydrogen sulphide. Quantitech Managing Director, Keith Golding believes that the HY-OPTIMA™ 2700 "will prove extremely popular for hydrogen production, refinery and petrochemical applications where real-time measurements can enhance process plant efficiency, safety, diagnostics and maintenance management."
