Air monitoring
New partnership offers the next generation instruments for visibility and aerosol studies to British Isles’ environmental monitoring sector
Jul 09 2021
Enviro Technology Services (ET) has teamed up with California’s Nikira Labs, to offer the UK and Irish market access to a range of next-generation, highly portable, optical extinction analysers which cater for a wide array of visibility and aerosol monitoring applications.
Nikira’s OEA-532 has merged open-path cavity ringdown measurement with their unique, patented self-referencing system to create an optical extinction/visibility in air analyser with unsurpassed accuracy, negligible sample handling and minimal or no drift. This analyser has a host of applications and has been widely used at airports, roads, tunnels, air quality and pollution monitoring networks, forests, aerosol research and for clean room and semi-conductor fabrication and research.
The versatile and portable OEA-532 is light (7.7 kg) and compact (49 x 33 x 18 cms) and housed in a tough, durable and water-resistant Pelican case. Low power consumption (35 watts) enables the OEA-532 to operate on battery power for lengthy periods of time in locations where mains power is inaccessible. This analyser includes onboard data storage for up to 2 years of continuous usage. Data is accessible through a USB connection or remotely with a cellular modem. This single wavelength (532 nm) analyser comes in two formats: a standard 1-Hz or a super-fast 10-Hz version catering for Eddy Covariance applications, the Model OEA-532EC.
