Extended agreement for air quality sensor to be distributed in UK

Feb 15 2021

Back in January 2019, ET joined forces with air quality sensor and mapping specialists EarthSense, as distributor for the Zephyr® air quality sensor to UK Local Authorities.

Since then, ET have supplied over 120  Zephyr® units to a growing number of authorities and has re-signed with EarthSense to continue the partnership for another 2-years.

The Zephyr®, capable of measuring NO2, NO, O3, PM10, PM2.5 and PM1.0 in a standard cartridge, is a compact and lightweight air pollution sensor that measures gases and particulate matter formed from harmful emissions. It has proven very popular amongst authorities looking to expand their air quality monitoring capabilities, enabling hyper-local measurements in real-time to help identify pollution hotspots such as busy road junctions. Zephyr’s can be either mains or solar-powered, and can be utilised on their own or in extensive networks for city-wide pollution data to aid the development of smarter and cleaner towns and cities.

Managing Director Duncan Mounsor comments, “ET have been central in supplying UK authorities with sophisticated air quality monitoring systems since the company’s beginnings in 1983, and although we specialise in ‘reference method’ and MCERTS approved analyser technology, we very much see the huge potential of low cost, small format multi-pollutant sensor systems and the complimentary way they can expand and enhance the number of measurements in towns and cities.

Our continued partnership with EarthSense ensures we are able to supply authorities with the best of both worlds.”

Both Enviro Technology Services and EarthSense specialise in environmental monitoring of air pollution. The partnership combines expertise to provide local authorities with the necessary hardware to understand and manage air quality issues across the UK.
