Air Monitoring
Detection of BTEX in Ambient Air
Jul 25 2014
Baseline, a MOCON company (USA), provides a measurement solution for BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene) in ambient air. The Series 9100 Gas Chromatograph (GC) can be used for monitoring BTEX in both indoor and outdoor environments, such as workplace exposure levels, pollution controls and environmental monitoring.
The 9100 Series GC utilises a photoionisation detector (PID) for this analysis. Using a dual capillary column configuration, the analysis and separation of BTEX can be completed in 180 seconds for a quick analysis and 360 seconds for the standard analysis. With lower detection limits less than 2 ppb for benzene, 5 ppb toluene, 5 ppb ethylbenzene and 5 ppb for the xylene, the 9100 Series is an ideal fit for many BTEX monitoring applications.
Key features of the 9100 GC include automatic calibration for unattended operation, remote access and control, optional user selectable analogue outputs, graphical display of current and historical concentrations and multipoint sampling options.
