Indoor Air Quality Monitoring (IAQ)
Fine Dust Monitoring System
Jul 30 2012
The Fidas continuous ambient air quality monitoring system provides simultaneous measurements of PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10, TSP (PMtot), of particle number concentration and particle size distribution. The concentrations are measured by single particle optical light scattering, using a LED light source.
The system is currently being tested with regard to its suitability and equivalency according to EN 12341, EN 14907 and the equivalency guideline. European Certification is expected after successful completion of the tests to EN 15267-1 & -2.
All Fidas versions are equipped with an integrated datalogger, large touchscreen with graphical user interface and multiple interfaces (e.g. WLAN, LAN, USB, RS-232/485). For flexible hot spot measurements (e.g. workplace monitoring, IAQ in different rooms), a portable version with built-in battery has been developed.
By providing the particle size and number, the Fidas bridges the gap between conventional mass concentration based monitoring, modern source apportionment and health effect studies. Additionally, it is the right instrument for regulatory air quality monitoring stations as well as for scientific propagation and distribution studies.
