Biomethane is an important source of green and renewable energy. To allow injection of biomethane into the natural gas grid or the use as a vehicle fuel, it should meets the quality standards for natural gas.

The timely and accurate measurement of the biomethane energy is of fundamental importance for users and distributors. The MicroGC technology supply features ideal for fast and accurate on-line analysis of biomethane and calorific value measurements. Minor organic contaminants like hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, terpenes, ketones can be determined, as well biomethane odorization. As connection tool, an important role is played by the software architecture of the MicroGC system, it must be flexible and open to any specific installation requirement, like sampling switching, data communication and, at the same time, fully user accessible for data analysis management.

The R490 M MicroGC from SRA Instruments Company is metrology class A certified by the LNE (National Laboratory of Tests) according to the international recommendation OIML R140:2007 (OIML = International Organization of Legal Metrology), this ensures the reliability and the reproducibility of the results, but also the reliability and the safety of the conditions of use. The software "Metrology" certified allows a complete traceability of the interventions made on the analyzer and allows these interventions only after having checked the rights of access.

Ronan Cozic (SRA Instruments)

After a Master of Chemistry terminated in 1999 at University Paris-Sud, I got my PhD in Analytical Chemistry at University Claude Bernard Lyon 1. During my PhD at Service Central d'Analyse du CNRS I worked at the development of a transportable gas analyser based on the preconcentration of VOC followed by a MicroGC coupled with a Mass Spectrometer and at the realization of a device for the controlled emission of VOC in order to analyse online and onsite gases and VOC in Air. Since 2004 I'm a member of SRA Instruments and I'm managing the R&D department with 4 engineers and technicians reporting to me. Responsible for the testing laboratory I'm leading the development of analysis methods and instrumentation to meet the customer's needs and I'm specialized in MicroGC technique.
