Xylem Gains MCERTS and WRAS Approval for Flygt MagFlux
Jan 20 2017
Demonstrating high accuracy and compliance with the Environment Agency’s performance standards, Xylem’s Flygt MagFlux EMF 801 has achieved MCERTS accreditation as well as WRAS approval.
MCERTS, the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme, ensures environmental monitoring systems meet its quality requirements and are monitoring emissions effectively. WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) on the other hand, confirms that any product or fitting that comes into contact with the public mains water supply is compliant with relevant regulations and byelaws – ensuring health and safety isn’t compromised and the quality of the water supply is maintained.
The Flygt MagFlux provides a precise solution for the measurement of flow in pipes and is easy to install and operate, providing high accuracy even with slow flows. In fact, readings are accurate to 0.25% for flow rates from as low as 0.2m/sec to as high as 10m/sec. The innovative flow measurement tool can even detect when a pipe is empty, while bi-directional sensors allow forward and reverse flow. What’s more, automatic electrode cleaning keeps the MagFlux accurate and reduces maintenance requirements.
Designed to seamlessly integrate with Flygt’s range of pumps and control devices, the Flygt MagFlux is a flexible option, allowing for compact or separate mounting and can withstand submersions to a depth of 10m (30ft).
Andrew Welsh, General Manager ICA Department at Xylem commented: “We are delighted that the Flygt MagFlux has gained approval from both MCERTS and WRAS, two key industry bodies for the water sector. The Flygt MagFlux EMF 801 is crucial to understanding what is happening in your system so you can take control of your pump station. With a variety of sizes and accessories available, it can provide flow measurement for a vast range of installations all with the added reassurance of WRAS and MCERTS approval.”
