High Resolution Monitoring of Pressure Transient (Water Hammer) Events in Pipelines
Jan 30 2015
TransientMinder from Syrinix (UK) is designed to provide continuous, high resolution monitoring of clean water pipelines with notification over cellular radio (GPRS, GSM) of burst events.
TransientMinder continuously samples pressure data at 128 samples per second and stores data onto the unit’s internal memory card. In addition to the high resolution pressure transient event data, TransientMinder can also simultaneously record pressure data at defined logging intervals, uploading the data to RADAR at midnight each day. The pressure and transient event data can be viewed online offering min, mean, max and absolute pressure readings in graphical format. The data can also be exported into a third party software package or graphical user interface in .csv format. Data can also be downloaded locally to a laptop via the units USB port.
If multiple units are deployed on a hydraulically linked pipeline network, the pressure and transient data for each unit can be viewed simultaneously on the same graph. This provides clear information to allow the tracking of pressure transients as they travel through the network and aids in identification of the source of the transient.
TransientMinder has an integrated GPS antenna providing accurate location and time stamping of recorded pressure and transient events.
Settings can be remotely configured via the RADAR online software platform, providing the user with instant event alerts by email or SMS.
TransientMinder and its external Lithium battery pack are waterproof and rated to IP68.
