Mobile, Stand-alone Solution for Flow Rate Monitoring in Sewer Manholes
Feb 03 2017
The mobile wastewater flow monitoring solution by SOMMER Messtechnik combines the highly innovative SQ Flow Meter with the smart data logger MRL-7 including data transmission and all provisions for a convenient installation in the sewer manhole. It is a self-supporting, independent and compact system dedicated for remote monitoring sites without permanent power supply or landline wire connection. The flow meter as well as the two removable boxes for battery pack and data logger/modem are easy to access, easy to exchange and easy to store in the manhole. For this specific application all components are of course resistant to aggressive environments and water-proof (IP 68).
This mobile flow monitoring station is especially useful for temporary measurement campaigns, for sewer network capacity studies, hydraulic analysis and evaluations as well as for temporary comparisons of existing flow monitoring equipment. It is installed at key points of the sewer system or for example at the inlet of overflow basins in order to collect valuable data for a professional storm water management. Optionally the system can be upgraded with a camera for site visualisation respectively a visual documentation of the actual situation (emergency assessment) and a solar panel with solar charge controller to recharge the batteries.
This new system provides an unreached level of flexibility together with equally high measurement standards for challenging monitoring tasks.
