Water Purification Technologies, Operating Services and Analytical Services Showcased at Sustainabilitylive
Apr 26 2012
Severn Trent Services, global provider of water and wastewater solutions, will showcase its full line of analytical services, water purification technologies and operating services at IWEX - a part of Sustainabilitylive! - from 22 - 24 May 2012, in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The exhibition is a UK event for water, wastewater and environmental solutions.
The following products will be featured during the exhibition at stand E28:
Water Purification: Severn Trent Services’ line of water and wastewater filtration and disinfection products includes TETRA LP Block dual parallel underdrain filters for drinking water applications. The technology ensures low headloss and features lightweight construction and easy installation either as a retrofit or for new filter underdrain applications. The system provides excellent distribution of both backwash air and water to offer more efficient bed cleaning and lower operating costs. The company also will feature its TETRA NSAF tertiary ammonia removal technology. Thames Water Utilities, recently awarded Severn Trent Services a framework agreement to provide the NSAF technology to the UK utility’s multi-billion-pound capital programme for AMP 5. Other water treatment technologies include Capital Controls gas feed, instrumentation and chlorine dioxide generators as well as alternative disinfection solutions such as ClorTec on-site hypochlorite generators and MicroDynamics microwave UV disinfection.
Operating Services: The company’s operating services (UK and Ireland) division offers water and wastewater services to utilities, commercial and industrial entities, the public sector and housing developers across the country. The division’s services include the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater plants, from the design and build stage to a fully managed, end-to-end service, including ongoing management of assets, water hygiene risk assessments, billing and compliance management services. Severn Trent Services has recently won a number of contracts nationally, including a design-build, operations and maintenance contract with a major European food manufacturer in the United Kingdom; a contract with a London Borough Council to manage Legionella risk within its service area; a contract with the Ministry of Defence to redevelop the water and wastewater infrastructure of a former Royal Air Force base; and work with UK housing developers in the Midlands region to manage the installation of new water mains and service connections.
Analytical Services: Severn Trent Services provides one of the most extensive ranges of accredited environmental analysis in the United Kingdom through a network of five laboratories and one service centre. Providing both laboratory and in-field services for water, wastewater, land and waste testing, the company has extended its range of MCERTS accredited analysis for sampling and chemical testing of water. Severn Trent Services has been granted MCERTS accreditation for sampling untreated and treated sewage effluent at wastewater treatment works and for on-site testing of these samples for pH and conductivity. Earlier this year, the company introduced its PerkinElmer NexION ICP mass spectrometry autosampler with FAST technology, which provides fast and efficient analysis of low-level toxic metals in potable water.
