Smart Water webinar: "3 countries, 3 pipe::scan installations: Applied smart water technology from customer perspective"

Are you interested in learning about three different pipe::scan applications in three countries? During this webinar you will learn from our experienced guest speakers where and how they are using pipe::scan systems, which challenges they faced and which benefits they gain from using a smart water quality monitoring solution. At the end of the session you will have a chance to ask questions that might occur during the webinar.

Presenters: Benjamin Buysschaert, FARYS - Belgium; Jordi Raich, s::can Iberia – Spain; Philipp Proksch, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences - Austria
Moderator: Elisabeth Ebner, s::can

The pipe::scan is an innovative, modular sensor system for monitoring drinking water quality in the distribution network. It measures up to 10 parameters in one device: TOC, DOC, UV254, Turbidity, Color, Chlorine, pH/Redox, Conductivity, Temperature and Pressure. The water quality data can be sent to any central database via almost any protocol. Multiple pipe::scans are the ideal solution to monitor drinking water at any point in the network. Our guest speakers will share with you their experience with the pipe::scan from different applications.

Learn more about the pipe::scan.

Ghent, Belgium: Monitoring Belgian drinking water quality from source to tap with the pipe::scan.

Benjamin Buysschaert graduated in 2014 as a bioscience engineer and pursued a PhD in environmental microbiology at the Ghent University. In 2018 he joined the water utility FARYS as a project engineer. With his scientific background he manages both innovative projects in collaboration with research institutes and water reuse projects.

Valencia, Spain: Multiple pipe::scans monitoring water quality allow a smart water operation of the distribution network.

Dr. Jordi Raich holds a European PhD in Environmental Chemistry by the University of Barcelona and is related to the water sector for more than ten years. He joined s::can in 2013 and started s::can Iberia in 2015. Since then he operates the subsidiary, projects and team with direct interaction to many water utilities but also continued his work in European Projects like Smartwater for Europe or SCOREWATER and EU networks. Since 2012, he is an active member of the "Chemical and Biological Risks to water sector" Group from the Joint Research Center.

Vienna, Austria: The importance of continuous online water quality monitoring in drinking water production, storage and distribution in regard to climate change.

Philipp Proksch has a background in Molecular Biology and Civil Engineering and Water Management. He works at the Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control (SIG) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, starting as a research assistant in 2017. Since early 2020 he has been leading the institutes microbiology lab, which strongly emphasises the characterisation of bacterial communities in drinking water resources using flow cytometry and DNA-sequencing methods. Together with s::can several projects have been conducted using s::cans water monitoring methods and Online-Flow-Cytometry side by side.
