Android™ Mobile App Technology For Water Level is Announced
Sep 18 2017
In-Situ® Inc. announced today that their industry-leading Android™ smartphone technology for water monitoring is now available across their water level instrument platforms. In-Situ’s ongoing focus and investment in technology is evident in this release, which combines their software expertise with their rugged and reliable instrumentation. All In-Situ customers can now enjoy a simple, streamlined, and cost-effective way to access and manage water level and quality monitoring data from a mobile device.
In-Situ is known for being a leader in software and user experience. Launched in 2013, iSitu was the industry’s first smartphone application for environmental monitoring, and transformed the way environmental professionals collected water quality data by eliminating the need for bulky, expensive, handheld meters. Today, In-Situ takes another step forward in changing the standard for data acquisition, with a streamlined experience from the computer, to a mobile device, to the cloud.
The VuSitu Mobile App delivers what customers have come to know and expect from In-Situ solutions – accurate, repeatable, and defensible data that is easy to access and analyse. Users can quickly find and recognise water level and quality monitoring sites, and instantly view, download, and share data from the office or the field.
“We’re excited to bring our industry-leading software experiences to all of our customers, allowing them to pair our rugged and reliable water level and quality instruments with a software experience that is second-to-none in our industry. Whether you need to view live readings, set up logs via our easy, managed workflows, or configure your devices in any way, you can now use VuSitu and our Bluetooth® Wireless TROLL Com to do so,” said Ben Kimbell, vice president of research and design for In-Situ.
Offered in several languages to accommodate a global market, the VuSitu Mobile App provides auto-configuration, simplified calibration, directed data analysis, and automated report creation for all applications that In-Situ instruments serve. Site photos and GPS coordinates keep all projects in one organized, central location, and instrument firmware and software updates can be done directly through the app. A managed workflow for groundwater and low-flow sampling events is also built into the app, and can be paired with the 7-Inch Rugged Android Tablet for rapid input of sample and other barcoded information via the built-in barcode scanner. All of this is available in multiple languages for a global market.
With clear, step-by-step, in-app instructions, In-Situ expects users to spend significantly less time on instrument and software training. Rental customers can also enjoy storing data on their personal device via the mobile app, allowing easy access for future rental projects.
Both the VuSitu and iSitu mobile apps are free to download, offering users a low cost and simple way to obtain and analyze data using nearly all In-Situ instruments. Wireless telemetry systems and their cloud-based HydroVu Data Services round out In-Situ’s wireless remote monitoring platform.
