Groundbreaking wastewater system 'benefits Florida building'
May 07 2009
The Ecocentre, the headquarters of the Romano Law Group's trial law practice, is also home to the Worrell Water Technologies' Living Machine system, which saves the building 200,000 gallons of water annually.
In an area which faces water shortages, the machine treats water from sinks and showers in the building and converts it into recycled sources used for the irrigation of the building's exterior. It also channels rain water and uses it for lavatory flushing.
Tom Worrell, Chairman of Worrell Water Technologies, stated that the system is convenient due to its small size.
He added that it is "not your average wastewater treatment system. It's actually quite beautiful and creates quality freshwater without chemicals, odor or offensive by-products."
Worrell Water Technologies, whose headquarters are in Virginia, develops systems alongside the US department of defence, department of state and secret service for use in households and commercial buildings.
