Breakthrough in Portable Water Quality Testing at WWEM 2014
Oct 30 2014
Xylem Analytics (UK), the manufacturer of market leading instrumentation brands such as YSI, SonTek, Aanderaa, MJK and WTW, will unveil the new YSI ProDSS (Digital Sampling System) at WWEM 2014. Commenting on the launch Xylem Analytics Darren Hanson says: “This is the most advanced handheld multiparameter sampling instrument that we have ever offered and we anticipate enormous interest at the WWEM exhibition."
Visitors to WWEM 2014 will be able to see the new YSI ProDSS on stands 104 & 105 at the Telford International Centre on 5th and 6th November.
The YSI ProDSS answers customers’ demands for a handheld water quality instrument that can measure turbidity and depth (optional) in addition to pH, ORP, optical DO, conductivity and many more parameters with digital, smart sensor technology.
These smart sensors are automatically recognised by the instrument and each sensor stores its serial number and calibration data, even if unplugged from the instrument.
There are many options when ‘building’ a ProDSS instrument for water quality testing. Users can choose cables up to 100m with or without a depth sensor and each of the 4 sensor ports can accept any ProDSS smart sensor. The instrument also comes with optional GPS capability. A built-in micro USB On-The-Go port is available for connection to a PC or USB stick and an enormous memory enables the storage of over 100,000 data sets.
The ProDSS has been designed for field durability - the titanium smart sensors can be quickly and easily replaced in the field with military spec locking bayonet-style cable connectors. A rugged and waterproof (IP-67) rubber over-moulded instrument casing provides protection from the demands of field sampling, and a long-life rechargeable lithium-ion battery ensures reliability in the field and minimises waste. To see the ProDSS on 5th or 6th November in Telford, register for WWEM 2014 here.
