New acquisitions to boost Socotec’s remote monitoring and advanced geospatial solutions portfolio

Socotec UK, the highly regarded experts in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services for the construction and infrastructure sectors, have just acquired water quality monitoring specialists IETG, and 40Seven, who will add expertise in land and utility surveying services to the company. The acquisitions will add an extra 160 professionals to Socotec’s team and additional revenue of £13m, increasing the company’s total turnover to £200m.

The extended portfolio will enable Socotec to provide additional expertise for customers who need to reduce their environmental impact and tackle the challenges of climate change. The UK Government recently issued its first revision of its 25 Year Environment Plan, which focused on reducing water pollution. Water companies must now meet stringent targets with an emphasis on a higher level of transparency and monitoring data.

IETG specialise in planning and monitoring and therefore provide vital support to British water companies and wider stakeholders needing to comply with the updated regulations. IETG provide crucial monitoring parameters such as flow, level, temperature, sampling and water quality, all of which are key measurements for organisations that are affected by the recent updates to the UK government’s environmental plan.

40Seven's surveying capabilities include carrying out topographical and measured building surveys along with underground utility and gas hazard surveys, thus providing the perfect addition to  Socotec's existing services to provide customers with complete in-house solutions throughout the asset lifecycle.

Herve Montjotin, CEO, Socotec Group stated, “There is a perfect operational and cultural fit between IETG / 40Seven and Socotec UK. With this seasoned and cohesive team joining Socotec, we will enlarge our service offering especially in the environmental field and confirm our leadership in the UK.”
