Light – More than Meets the Eye!
Sep 27 2016
Skye Instruments (UK) are Light Sensor Specialists. Their range of custom sensors can be built with spectral responses to match Earth Orbiting satellites such as MODIS, vegetation and water band indices, as well as any project or research programme which needs to know the influence and effect of light at certain wavelengths.
Applications include: how plants use sunshine efficiently to convert atmospheric CO2 into green
vegetation, monitoring how ecosystems and seasons are changing with world climate, conditions, from the Arctic to the Antarctic, to desert, scrub-land and tropical forests, phenology and how the changing seasons are influencing plant and animal life cycle events, water quality by measuring the colour wavelengths of reflected light, measurement and control of optimum lighting for day to day human or animal comfort and safety.
Skye have recently introduced two new models to their range of custom sensors. Incorporating feedback from customers, these sensors have been designed for long term use outside, on Flux Towers and in any part of the world. Together with Skye’s dataloggers and meters a complete package can be supplied.
