Wireless Temperature Monitoring Probe for Composting and Biomass Plants
Feb 27 2014
Accurate temperature monitoring in composting windrows is essential to ensure an efficient process and abiding local regulations. Permanent transmission of data from a wireless autonomous device to a centralised location allows continual recording and logging, improving efficiency and reducing the time needed to complete a composting cycle. Using wireless devices increases workplace safety by eliminating running wires, as well as need for the operator to manually control the temperature several times a week by climbing on the piles.
Banner Engineering (Belgium) has developed a field proven wireless temperature monitoring probe that is used in in composting and biomass plants over Europe. Designed for rough conditions, high temperature and humidity, the battery operated module has three sensors to accurately monitor the temperature gradient inside the windrow. Powerful electronics provide a strong wireless signal, and the stainless steel construction guarantees its durability.
