Leak Detection
New, highly sensitive gas leak detector
May 31 2023
ION Science has announced the launch of its new Panther gas leak detector. Equipped with highly advanced features and boasting twice the sensitivity of its predecessor, the GasCheck G, the Panther will bring versatility and precision to the gas leak detection market.
Since the introduction of the original 'GasCheck' in 1990, ION Science has been empowering industrial users to rapidly identify leaks of gases such as hydrogen and helium. Thanks to recent advancements, such as over-range protection and audible alarms, the Panther PRO now represents a significant step forward in ION Science’s range of precise and dependable safety instrumentation. Featuring a highly sensitive thermal conductivity sensor, the Panther PRO can rapidly detect a wide range of gases, including helium, hydrogen, ammonia, and refrigerants.
The Panther PRO allows users to calibrate the instrument in ambient air, providing real-time visual, audible, and vibration alarms upon the detection of leaks. Its colour LCD display and built-in Gas-Table enable measurements of concentration and leak rates in various user-selectable units. All measurements can be simply and conveniently logged internally and easily downloaded via Bluetooth or USB. The Panther also includes an integrated torch and a flexible probe, enhancing usability in low-light and confined spaces.
For customers seeking a more budget-friendly option, ION Science offers a standard model of the Panther. This variant includes the same exceptional features as the PRO version, albeit without data logging and Bluetooth capabilities.
Designed to excel in demanding applications and challenging environments, the Panther and Panther PRO are equipped with an internal rechargeable battery that lasts up to an impressive 19 hours.
Highlighting the advantages of the Panther series, ION Science Product Manager Peter Barratt states, “We have over thirty years of experience, supplying thousands of customers in applications such as quality control, laboratory, cleanroom, medical, manufacturing, and research, so we have a very clear understanding of the features required of a professional gas leak detection instrument. We therefore know that customers will be delighted with the modern design, specification and performance of the Panther.”
