Trapped Personnel Alarms for Cold Stores
Mar 16 2010
Stonegate Instruments (UK) has announced an 18% increase in sales of its Trapped Personnel Alarm system this year.
The increased demand is a direct result of companies that have cold stores and refrigerated warehousing facilities continuing to make it a priority to treat the welfare of their staff with the highest possible priority and also the need to comply with stringent health and safety legislation.
In addition, in its guidance on precautions to prevent a person being trapped in a freezer room or cold enclosed area, the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that a minimum of an audible alarm actuator should be provided inside the cold area, which has also led to a boost in sales of Stonegate’s Trapped Personnel Alarm.
Stonegate’s Trapped Personnel Alarm has been designed to monitor latching emergency push buttons located inside cold stores and give audio as well as visual alarms if someone is trapped inside. It can be panel door or wall mounted, is backed up by batteries and has mains failure alert mechanisms, as well as mute and repeat features.
Shaun Evers, managing director of Stonegate Instruments said: “The current pressure on employers to continually improve the health and safety of their staff is reflected in the increase in sales of our Trapped Personnel Alarm this year. Making cold store environments safer places to work has been the driving force behind the innovative design of our Trapped Personnel Alarm.”
