CASELLA TO SHOW NEW CEL-960 VIBRATION METER AND ENHANCED CEL-630 SOUND LEVEL METERS – plus on stand competition to win Kindle Fire

Casella CEL will be highlighting its range of high performance industrial hygiene, occupational health and monitoring equipment at Safety & Health Expo 2012. The company’s new lightweight CEL-960 Human Vibration Meter features remote operation mode for easier measurements and better quality data. The recently enhanced CEL-630 Sound Level Meter with innovative ‘Audio Recording’ functionality will also be on display.

Further demonstrating its commitment to helping employers reduce or eliminate the risks associated with exposure to vibration, the cutting-edge CEL-960 features a compact yet robust design and is purpose developed to measure ‘hand-arm’ (HAV)* and ‘whole-body’ (WBV)* vibrations according to the requirements of European Directive 2002/44/EC.

Exposure measuring for HAV or WBV vibration is made exceptionally simple with the CEL-960, having just one button to operate the unit. It can also be easily operated remotely via Bluetooth to a laptop or tablet PC which means that the person conducting the measurement does not get in the way of the machine operator whose exposure is being monitored. This allows a better quality of data to be collected.

Comprising an acquisition unit, signal processing, data storage and data transfer, the CEL-960 measures tri-axial vibration levels and offers optional 1/3 octave spectrum recording. It also features a ‘presence detector’ (for whole body vibration) and warning light, as well as a 20-hour operating life.

Fully compliant with standards ISO 8041 (2005), ISO 5349 (2001) and ISO 2361 (1997), the CEL-960 comes complete with transducer, desktop charger, dB96 wireless remote control software, carrying case, CD and documentation.
Following the launch last year of its ground breaking CEL-630 series of exciting new sound level meters, Casella CEL, has made a number of enhancements that will further improve one of the smallest devices of its kind currently available in the market place.

Among the latest modifications is the addition of ‘Audio Recording’, which has a number of uses and applications including the ability to record voice notes before or after a measurement, allowing the operator to annotate a measurement without needing to write anything down.
For added convenience, all audio recordings can be played back via headphones or downloaded to a PC. Quick and easy to use the ‘switch on and go’ units’ are available in a range of models, some with voice notes, others with fully triggered events, in order to meet customers’ different requirements and budgets.
By bringing their business cards to the Casella CEL stand (E53), visitors will also be able to enter a competition to WIN a Kindle Fire.

* Hand-arm vibration is associated with the use of hand-held power tools and can be the cause of significant ill health, including painful and disabling disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and joints.

*Whole-body vibration is transmitted through a seat or feet of employees who drive mobile machines, or other work vehicles, over rough and uneven surfaces as a main part of their job. Large shocks and jolts may cause health risks, including back pain.
