Groundwater Monitoring
New bladder pump design features easy-to-replace bladder
Jul 22 2024
Solinst Canada Ltd. has launched a new Model 407 Bladder Pump design that will save time and money and still provide high-quality groundwater samples. Solinst’s bladder pumps now include Santoprene® bladder cartridges that are quick and simple to replace in situ with no tools needed.
These bladder pumps offer consistent and dependable groundwater samples in a wide array of applications. The bladder pumps comply with the most stringent US EPA standards for monitoring VOCs in groundwater; operators can rest assured that there is no air/water contact during sampling. These devices are ideal for regular or low flow groundwater sampling. Low-flow sampling is achieved by providing representative samples, thereby resulting in cost and time savings as there is less need for repeat sampling as well as less time taken for each sampling round. Low purge volumes facilitate rapid sampling and less purged water disposal.
Two pump sizes made with two different pump materials are available. Due to high demand, the new PVC Bladder Pump is available in a 1.66"/42 mm diameter. The standard stainless-steel models are available in 1.66"/42 mm and 1"/25 mm diameters. The bladder pumps are perfect for both regular flow or low flow sampling, the stainless-steel pumps can lift from depths up to 150 metres/500 feet below grade. The new PVC Bladder Pump operates up to 30 metres/100 feet below grade.
The stainless-steel versions are an excellent choice for a majority of industrial, municipal and general environmental applications, especially in cases where VOC analysis of the groundwater sample is a crucial measurement parameter. The new PVC bladder pump is best suited for metals analysis and operating with highly corrosive liquids. The PVC Bladder Pump offers an ideal solution for projects with a limited budget, but in cases in which dedicated bladder pumps are preferable.
All Solinst Bladder Pumps use the new Santoprene bladders. Not only are they easy to replace, Santoprene's chemical resistance and inert properties make the bladders capable of operating in harsh conditions and potable water applications. These pumps are both resilient and flexible, suitable for repeated, long-term use. Santoprene bladders are suited for dedication, but these new and easy-to-replace bladder cartridges are also superb for users who prefer to change bladders after each use.
