Gas Sensors
Ionic liquid-based gas sensors with extended service life for hydride detection
Jul 18 2024
Sensorix has developed electrochemical gas sensors based on ionic liquids for their OEM customers. As organic salts, Ionic Liquids (ILs) are characterised by their very low vapour pressure and high thermal stability. These properties enable ionic liquids to remain in a liquid state across a broad temperature spectrum, making them ideal electrolytes for electrochemical sensors. Consequently, these sensors exhibit extended operational lifespans of over 2 years in air and are well-suited for applications in harsh environments.
The Sensorix electrochemical sensors are ideal for deployment in the harshest of industrial environments and feature a very stable baseline, with a fast T90 response time and minimal transient humidity. These sensors offer exceptional stability especially when used in gas detectors with pumps as well as in applications at upper temperature specification and in exhaust and ventilation ducts.
Sensorix currently offer the following sensor types for OEMs: arsine (AsH3) 1 LT : 0-1 ppm, diborane (B2H6) 1 LT : 0-1 ppm, germane (GeH4) 1 LT : 0-1 ppm, hydrogen selenide (SeH2) 5 LT : 0-5 ppm, phosphine (PH3) 1 LT : 0-1 ppm and silane (SiH4) 50 LT : 0-50 mm.
