Gas Detection
Array of Safety Product Innovations Showcased at this year’s IWEX
May 11 2015
International safety and medical technology provider, Dräger (Germany), enjoyed another successful year at IWEX (part of Utility Week Live), showcasing its extensive range of fixed and portable fire and gas detection solutions.
Delegates visiting Dräger’s stand at the NEC Birmingham also had the opportunity to discover more about the company’s holistic approach to safety, along with innovations such as its award-winning Parat emergency escape set and workplace drug and alcohol testing solutions.
It marked another successful year for Dräger at one of the biggest events in the calendar for the water, gas and electricity utilities.
Gavin Peacock, Marketing Manager from Dräger, said: “2015 is an exciting year for Dräger and it was great to be able to showcase our wide range of products and safety solutions at Utility Week Live.
“Dräger has years of technological innovation behind every product. At the event, we had the opportunity to demonstrate these innovations to delegates first-hand. From our advanced gas detectors, Polytron’s 3000 and 7000, to our cutting edge communications device, the X-zone Com – we showed an extensive range of safety equipment.
“For Dräger though, it’s about offering complete solutions above and beyond our product lines. We look at the individual needs of each and every one of our customers, to ensure we continue to exceed expectations.”
Amongst the products demonstrated on stand was the acclaimed Parat escape hood – quick and easy to use, it protects workers in the water industry from toxic industrial and fire-related gases, vapours and particles for at least 15 minutes. Attendees were able to see first-hand the three simple steps it takes to use this innovative piece of equipment – open packaging, remove hood and put it on.
The Dräger team of experts was also on hand at the event to talk to delegates about the importance of having a robust drug and alcohol testing policy in place.
Dräger’s DrugTest 5000 is one of the only drug-testing kits approved by the Home Office for testing cannabis and cocaine use and this real time technology has an important role to play in improving safety across the board – alongside the company’s wider range of drug and alcohol testing products and safety solutions.
At the event, Dräger also showcased many other key product innovations, including the Dräger X-dock – an instrument calibration and management system which helps the water industry stay on top of the testing and calibration of its portable gas detection instruments, at the same time as saving time and money.
Significantly, the X-dock also offers a robust documentation and reporting function so that users can see the status of their portable gas detection instrument fleet at a glance and can produce calibration certificates without the need for a computer or printer.
