Jan 26 2023
G7c personal wearable by Blackline Safety’s G7c personal wearable is the first connected gas detector and lone worker safety monitor to achieve certification according to the UK’s recently upgraded BS 8484:2022.
There were almost 700,000 incidents of violence in UK based workplaces in 2019/20. Lone workers also have to contend with the possibility of harmful events such as slips, trips, falls, bad health, extreme weather and vehicular accidents. In addition, stress and mental health, medical suitability to work alone, and the workplace itself also pose risks to the well-being of personnel, if working in a remote location or in isolation. Blackline Safety specialise in ensuring the safety of these at-risk workers.
Lone worker monitors allow organisations to maximise employee’s safety with rapid incident detection and emergency response services so that all team members are always accounted and get to go home to their families at the end of their shift.
Due to the UK’s strict Health and Safety laws, which stipulates the responsibilities of employers in detail, the UK is considered one of the safest places in the world to work. BS8484 allows certified service suppliers to provide the most efficient level of emergency response, bypassing the 999 system ensure that the process is as effective as possible.
The G7c is Blackline’s world-renowned all-in-one cloud-connected solution; integrating 4G connectivity and industry-first capabilities ensures efficient and dependable monitoring of lone workers. The chance of a worker’s call for assistance could go unanswered is diminished by connecting personnel directly with live monitoring so that safety management teams can monitor them from wherever they are located.
G7c’s lifesaving man-down and lone worker protection features integrated connectivity, which wirelessly links your team to live monitoring personnel along with True Fall Detection™ and no-motion alerts. Missed check-ins are immediately identified when a member of staff fails to confirm their safety status within a scheduled confirmation timeframe. The G7c also features dependable communication with options of two-way text messaging, two-way voice calling and push-to-talk facilities.
The G7c’s emergency SOS latch generates an instant visible and audible alarm which alerts monitoring personnel if a team member encounters a threatening or dangerous situation. The Silent SOS feature allows users to discreetly call for help by pressing the red latch for three seconds; there are no obvious signs of activation to a potential aggressor.
Blackline’s G7c automatically communicates man down and gas alert situations to monitoring personnel who can then deploy a potentially life-saving emergency response when and where it is needed, this includes calling the police. The worker’s location and safety status can be clearly seen on a live map, so responders know the precise location of the incident.
Connectivity ensures the most rapid possible emergency response. The live monitoring team follows tailored emergency response protocols and if necessary, escalates to involving the police, ambulance or fire service, which is only permissible when using a BS 8484:2022 certified solution. G7c is the only BS 8484:2022-certified combination lone worker monitoring and gas detection product currently on the market.
