Combined Gas Detection and Vibration Multi-sensor Low Cost Network

Sep 14 2012

AirBase Systems (Germany) and Code Mercenaries, a German supplier for the industrial input devices and peripheral manufacturers, are joining hands and offering first-of-its kind combined sensing networks for the mining industry. The new network will integrate AirBase's air quality multi-sensor CanarIT0.1 with Code Mercenaries JoyWarrior24F14 3 Axis Acceleration Sensor.

The two technological companies are developing cutting edge sensor technology for environmental, health and safety applications. The new multi-sensor units are equipped with internet connection capabilities (Wi-Fi or GSM) and are designed to be deployed in large numbers and operate as a sensing network. The new network product Mines SensNet is offered at a much lower cost than other existing technologies.

AirBase CanarIT0.1 measures Ozone (O3), NO2, Total VOC (Volatile Organic Compound), Particulate Matter (Total Suspended Particles), Relative Humidity, Temperature and Noise. The product, CanarIT, combines nanotechnology sensors with Internet connectivity, via Wi-Fi or GSM, to deliver air quality data to the AirBase data cloud. Code Mercenaries JoyWarrior24F14 is an acceleration sensor. The modules are fit for acceleration, tilt, and low frequency vibration sensing, as well as for human input applications. X, Y, Z axis, 14 bit resolution each with 125 values per second.

Says Liad Ortar, Co-Founder and VP Marketing of AirBase Systems, “We are extremely excited to join hands here with Code Mercenaries and offer a unique solution to the mining industry. We do hope that the new technology will assist in safeguarding miner's health and life". Guido Körber CEO at Code Mercenaries added that: "This is a really fascinating combination. By adding our inexpensive acceleration sensors to the AirBase Systems products it is possible to detect a whole new range of potential hazards. The JW24F14 sensors allow detecting seismic activities and changes in inclination."
