Upgradeable Mulichannel Fibre Optic Thermometer
Apr 22 2013
Industrial sites often show heavy contamination of the soil by oil, toxic and persistent organic compounds. For decontaminating these areas with radio frequency heating, fibre optic temperature sensors and thermometers are necessary for controlling the process. Another environmental application for fibre optic thermometers is wood drying. During this process of drying and reconstruction of old wooden buildings the core temperature should be controlled to avoid damage. The ideal fibre optic thermometer for this process monitoring applications is Optocon's (Slovakia) FOTEMP-MK19", modular system. It is a flexible multi-channel signal conditioner, which allows simultaneous readout of the channels at high speed.
The new fully upgradeable multichannel fibre optic temperature monitoring system FOTEMPMK-19" Modular by Optocon AG has a modern appearance and a high quality standard. It is smaller in size featuring a standard 3HE/19inch rack mount system. It supports a variety of variable measurement projects, because it is fully customisable on individual customer requirements.
Exchange modules with different features are available any time and can be completed or replaced in a few steps by the customer. The modular thermometer supports 8 modules with up to 40 simultaneous measurement channels. Customers can choose between display versions, analogue outputs, relay modules and interfaces such as Ethernet, ModBus and Profibus. Via the software Fotemp-Assistant all measurement results can be easily controlled and monitored via the computer. The software features direct data logging and data saving to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. All these features come along with measurement accuracy of +/- 0.2°C.
With the robust construction and complete immunity to RF, EMI, NMR and microwave radiation, it is ideal for temperature measurements in microwave and RF fields, in high-voltage areas, in chemically aggressive and in hazardous environments.
The Optocon AG have been developing measurement devices for fibre optic temperature measurement and fiber optic temperature sensors since 1993. In 20 years of business experience, the focus of the company is to provide customers with innovative and individual solutions for their fibre optic measurement projects. From the office in Dresden Optocon AG has established itself internationally and delivers products anywhere in the world.
