High Performance Microwave Digestion Systems

The new ETHOS UP and the new ETHOS EASY are the most advanced microwave digestion systems Milestone Srl (Italy) has ever manufactured.

The new Milestone ETHOS microwave cavity has a volume in excess of 70 litres, by far the largest currently available; up to 44 samples can be accommodated, improving productivity and sample preparation throughput.

The new Milestone ETHOS UP and ETHOS EASY are equipped with the most advanced yet easy to use reaction sensors for complete quality control of the digestion conditions. In combination with their ‘vent-and-reseal’ vessel technology, the sensors ensure complete and safe digestions without any loss of volatile compounds.

Two completely new rotors offering both high quality digestion and high sample throughput are available for the ETHOS UP and ETHOS EASY. The SK-15 is a high-pressure rotor featuring up to 15 TFM vessels with a volume of up to 100 ml and suitable for all applications. The MAXI-44 is a high-throughput rotor featuring up to 44 TFM vessels with a volume of up to 100 ml and suitable for a wide range of samples including environmental and all organics. Both rotors are fully compliant with commonly used standard methods, such as the US EPA 3015, 3051, and 3052.

The ETHOS UP and the ETHOS EASY are controlled via a compact terminal that runs a completely new multi-language software (11 languages!) to provide easy control of the microwave run. There is no need to input the number of samples or weights being digested, as the software will automatically regulate the microwave power accordingly, simplifying the use of the instrument. Included with the new ETHOS UP system is a unique web based application – Milestone Connect.

The app provides up to date information and extended instrument control from outside the laboratory with remote monitoring of every sample in the digestion run, through any PC, tablets or smartphones.

Continuously updated application notes, a library of available scientific articles published in scientific magazines, and a help-on-line section are available to provide instant support available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for Milestone's users.
