a1 cbiss have announced that their recent addition to their team, Mary Sheriff, has won the Best Newcomer Apprentice award at the UK’s National SEMTA Awards
In October 2017, Mary Sheriff was nominated by a1-cbiss and her designated Training Officer at The Engineering College, Birkenhead for the National GTA Apprentice of the year award for her dedication and commitment to a1-cbiss, her programme and her attitude as an ‘ambassador’ for apprenticeships.
Mary was shortlisted to 4 candidates from a network of 12,500 apprenticeships
Mary Sheriff commenced her apprenticeship at The Engineering College in September 2016 working towards an NVQ L3 Extended Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. Within no time at all Mary completed 6 of the required 10 units to cover her BTEC Course with distinctions, was well ahead of schedule and on target to achieve this qualification well before her end date.
a1-cbiss are incredibly proud of Mary’s achievement, as well as being very pleased for her and her family. The emissions monitoring, gas sampling and safety experts hope that Mary's success can serve as a motivation to all of their apprentices to show what they can achieve
