Monitor air quality with “Make In India” class I analyser-based CAAQMS and FTIR-based CEMS with unsurpassed precision and reliability

Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of its ‘Make in India’ Class 1 analyser-based Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (CAAQMS) to provide a spur to the India growth story of manufacturing in India, for India and for the world. It is Thermo Fisher’s contribution to the country’s localisation drive and environmental stewardship efforts.

In line with the Government of India initiatives under National Clean Air Program (NCAP) and City Action Plans (CAPs) to mitigate the challenges of air pollution, Thermo Fisher’s Class I CAAQMS systems accomplish the task of real-time air monitoring while complying with the NAAQMS 2009 guidelines to provide representative insights to formulate immediate action plans and long term/short term policies and continuously improve the air quality across India.

These Class I CAAQMS systems house sophisticated analyser technologies providing ppb level measurements which are imported due to manufacturing intricacies. For the first time, Thermo Fisher Scientific decided to endorse the state-of-the-art Nashik Maharashtra, India facility as one of the global analyser manufacturing sites, in compliance with the local and global regulatory requirements, reinforcing their belief in ‘Made in India, Made for the world’. These Class I CAAQMS systems are assembled at Chakan, in India, with Indian-made analysers, locally sourced subassemblies, highly skilled manpower, and global expertise to roll out safe area and hazardous area compliant quality conscious, robust and advanced data delivery designs that set an unbeatable benchmark across the industry.

With the latest addition of FTIR-based Max-iR product to Thermo Fisher’s already existing Flagship Dilution CEMS, Mercury CEMS and Hot Extraction CEMS, the company has taken their Source Emission Monitoring (CEMS) to the next level in terms of accuracy, reliability and promptness of response. As a company, Thermo Fisher is committed to investing nearly 5% of their global revenue in R&D to bring forth technologies that solve the environment and process monitoring problems across sectors ranging from various applied markets to new burgeoning sectors such as green hydrogen, semiconductor manufacturing and Li-ion battery applications.

We have a current fleet of 1000+ stations including CAAQMS or CEMS across India already providing insights to the authorities facilitating implementation of targeted strategies, addressing pressing concerns of various sectors, including but not limited to Government Pollution Control Boards, hard to abate sectors such as oil and gas, mining, iron and steel, cement and power generation thereby enabling our customers to make this world a healthier cleaner and safer place to live.
