Air Monitoring
Newly Certified PM Monitor
Feb 02 2013
Teledyne Advanced Pollution Instrumentation (USA) is proud to announce a new system for the continuous automated monitoring and sampling of particulate matter (PM) contained in ambient air. The Model 602 BetaPLUS instrument combines field-proven beta attenuation analysis with dual-channel, sequential sampling technology yielding simultaneous PM10, PM2.5 and PM10-2.5 mass concentration results every hour.
The instrument has inherent design characteristics which eliminate background artifacts, such as radiation and humidity, providing results which closely match the Federal Reference Method (FRM) samplers regardless of season or location, and without the need for any internal corrections or adjustment factors to the data. The background radiation count data is recorded hourly and can be used to assess regional Atmospheric Stability, which is useful for determining root causes of air pollution events.
The system is the first to receive US EPA FEM Certifications for all three parameters (PM10, PM2.5 and PM10-2.5) simultaneously in a single instrument. Visit Teledyne's website for further information on this new continuous PM monitoring system (www.teledyne-api.com).
