Company Completes 500th Delivery of SCR Control Monitoring Sytem

Jan 17 2014

SICK MAIHAK (China), a subsidiary of SICK AG, Waldkirch Germany, has just completed their 500th delivery of NOx and NH3 monitoring systems for DeNOx Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) control in China in 2013. To date, SICK has supplied more than 70 power plants with their complete solution for monitoring NOx on the inlet and outlet of the SCRs to continuously monitor removal efficiency as well as their in-situ TDLS analyser for measuring NH3 slip. China is actively retrofitting their coal fired power plants with DeNOx systems as part of the government’s 12th 5-year plan to improve air quality in China.

SICK MAIHAK China is the #1 supplier of in-situ TDLS monitors measuring NH3 slip at the outlet of the SCR and #2 for NOx monitoring equipment in China. The GM700 TDLS monitor is the only device which uses a gas permeable probe, keeping the high dust concentrations out of the measuring path, thereby preventing interference.

SICK’s ability to measure accurately and continuously under the hot, dust-laden conditions has been the cornerstone of its success in this market, according to Strategic Industry Manager “Power”, Deborah Padwater. In addition to superior products, SICK MAIHAK China has also provided comprehensive project management, service and installation support locally for our power plant customers, a vital part of the complete solution, according to Mr. Li Changyun, General Manager of SICK MAIHAK China.

SICK AG is one of the world’s leading producers of sensors and sensor solutions for industrial applications. SICK is a technology and market leader in factory and logistics automation as well as process automation. Within the business segment of process automation, SICK provides emission monitoring, process analysers and custody transfer gas flow meters in more than 80 countries over the world.
