Firm`s Expansion Brings Swiss Precision to the Heath
Jan 23 2009
UK customers were all previously serviced from the company`s headquarters in Buckingham, now this move will make it more convenient for Metrohm`s customers to visit these facilities from the centre of the UK`s industrial heartland.
From a basic range of more than 70 "off-the-shelf" models, Metrohm scientists can work out customised methodologies for measuring the percentage content of chemicals in almost any industry, from food and pharmaceuticals to horticulture and the oil industry. AstraZeneca, Shell, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and dozens of "blue chip" companies and university research institutes are among its many clients which have been relying on Metrohm equipment since the company was founded in Switzerland in 1943.
For Metrohm UK Product Manager Richard Jacobs the move to The Heath has a strange sense of déjà vu. He used to work on the same site in Runcorn for eight years in the 80s and early 90s as a chemist for ICI and is delighted to see there are still some familiar faces around.
