Passive Air Monitoring of Microbial Contaminants: Don’t Settle for Second-Best
Jul 27 2012
As part of Merck Millipore’s (Germany) complete range of environmental monitoring solutions, settle plates for passive viable air monitoring provide a reliable, convenient and flexible complement to active air sampling. These settle plates enable semi-quantitative determination of microbial contaminations in ambient air but are also suitable for personnel monitoring (e.g., gloves) as well as for active air monitoring with the MAS-100 samplers. And that’s not all: settle plates are easy to use, efficient, and enable continuous monitoring during production processes. Because they are fairly small, they are ideally suited for usage in confined spaces.
LI Settle Plates are designed for microbial passive sampling during environmental monitoring in less critical areas. Each plate is labeled with a data matrix barcode, containing its reference, lot, serial number and expiry date. Room temperature storage and their long shelf life add to the convenience of the LI Settle Plates. The plates’ high filling volumes allow prolonged exposition and incubation. They can also be used for personnel monitoring or as disposables for active air monitoring with MAS air samplers.
ICR Settle Plates for use in isolators and critical cleanrooms reach beyond the features of the LI Settle Plates. They are gamma-irradiated in their final packaging and come in transparent, H2O2-impermeable triple-barrier packaging for safe transportation in cleanrooms (ISO 5) and isolators.
