Setting new standards in trace moisture measurement

MBW has introduced the SLX dew point mirror hygrometer for trace measurement of water vapour in gases to 1 ppbv which corresponds to a frost point of -112 °C or -116 °C dew point.

A completely new and unique design, the SLX dew point measuring head is submersed into a temperature bath for precise thermal control. The main benefit of this new approach is lower measurement and calibration uncertainty in the trace and ultra-trace moisture/humidity range.  This is achieved by minimising thermal gradients in the measurement system, including pre-cooling the sample gas to reduce thermal flux at the mirror surface.

Using the measurement of temperature and pressure, condensation hygrometers provide metrological traceability to SI units and are used as transfer standards in moisture analyser production and laboratory calibration systems.  In combination with primary realisation humidity generation systems, the MBX SLX will support improved performance and lower uncertainty in trace moisture and humidity measurement.
