Electronic listening stick locates leaks in pipeline systems
Jul 06 2018
F.A.S.T Gmbh have developed the Aqua M40 D, a handy pocket size listening stick to locate pipe-line leaks. This easy to use and compact instrument offers operators single knob operation and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. Readings are taken on a simple, 8-step LED display and the high/low filter ensures that a variety of pipes can be tested.
With this electronic listening stick developed by F.A.S.T., pipes and valves can be checked for leakage borne noise simply and safely. Even minimal noise can be heard with this device. This is possible due to the combination of a high sensitivity vibration pick up and adapted amplification.
As it is possible to filter high as well as low frequencies, successful measurements can be taken on metallic as well as non-metallic pipes. The Bluetooth transmission of the noise from the main unit to the headphone makes this device considerable easier for the operator.
To take a measurement, the Aqua M-40 device will monitor any available spot on the pipeline or valves. If the pipe has a leak, the leak’s noise will be audible on this spot as well as the actual spot where the leak has occurred. The integrated LED display will then indicate the intensity of the sound of the leak.
