Unique Engine Analysis System
Jun 27 2011
Environnement SA (France) now offer heated, turnkey, gas analysis systems which are very easy to use and perform fast, continuous and simultaneous measurement of NH3 and NOx in DeNOx applications. These systems are ideal for engines where SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) or SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction) have been implemented.
In DeNOx systems using urea injection with ammonia (NH3) as a reducing agent, the flow rate and control of the NH3 must be continuously adjusted and controlled to prevent excess NH3 emissions, thus reducing environmental impact and costs of reagents. Therefore, to optimise this process, it is necessary to use an emissions analysis system for simultaneous and continuous monitoring of NOx and NH3.
This unit includes a sampling system with a self regulated heated line (191 degrees Celsius) integrating a 2 microns heated filter. There is also an optional, additional filter for instant replacement via the ‘Quick Lock’ connection system. Calibration and zero gases can be injected in to the heated probe for system integrity checks and calibration, as well as leak testing. The sampling system can also carry out automatic and programmable back-flushing (using air or N2) for filter cleaning.
The analysis cabinet itself is mounted on castor wheels to allow for fast and easy movement between test cells. The cabinet has a secondary filter (1.5 microns) embedded inside. This unit has no moving parts, so it is virtually maintenance-free. The cabinet’s modular design allows the user to add other analysers (such as THC, CO, CO2 O2),
The analyser offers a very speedy response time (< 2 seconds) and various compounds, such as CO, CO2, H2O, create no interference or quenching effect. The system is enhanced with its specially designed, Windows PC based, software and communication by AK protocol (RS 232/RJ 45). This instrument can also carry out dual measurements (pre and post catalyst).
Environnement SA’s unique DeNOx Mini Cabinet offers an ideal solution for pre and post catalyst measurement of NOx and NH3 for all types of engines using DeNOx emissions monitoring for incineration, cogeneration and other processes using catalytic DeNOx systems.
