Opacity Monitor Recieves MCERTS Certification
Oct 20 2015
CODEL International (UK) is pleased to announce that the DCEM 2100 Opacity monitor has successfully received MCERTS certification. Tested by TUV Rhineland at a municipal waste incinerator operating under the EU Industrial Emissions Directive, the DCEM 2100 is certified under EN 15267 QAL1 for use on all EU regulated stationary emissions.
The DCEM 2100 represents the latest evolution of CODEL’s world renowned Opacity monitors. The analyser has been significantly improved with new optical benches, upgraded zero and span checking system and a new electronic signal processing system.
Although used primarily on power stations and other energy intensive processes it is certified to operate on waste incinerators.
As the sensing elements are isolated from the stack gas by an air curtain, the optical windows and zero and span checking elements are protected from the aggressive effects of corrosive gas and particulate.
The unit has an advanced protection system which is activated when the power or compressed air is lost, this closes a ball valve to protect the optics and the zero checking system from the ingress of dust and gas.
Maintenance requirements are very low and easy to carry out.
The DCEM 2100 can give outputs in Transmission, Opacity, Ringelmann units and mg/m3 (after calibration against an SRM test cycle).
The DCEM 2100 is a standalone unit which can be easily integrated into an existing or proposed CEMS system. It has a unique principle of operation using two transceivers which both transmit and receive the measured signal which ensures very accurate operation. Like all CODEL analysers, it has a robust construction and is designed to operate in hostile industrial environments.
