Mexico City's air quality is unhealthy, report shows

Feb 11 2011

The air quality in Mexico City has been found to be poor, according to a recent report.

Data from AirNow, CITEAIR and the American Embassy in Beijing was revealed to the Independent, showing the different pollution levels in major cities around the world.

Findings indicated that yesterday (February 10th 2011) and today (February 11th) saw poor air quality results in Mexico City, with the index showing that the atmosphere was 'unhealthy for sensitive groups'.

The only other city to have poor air quality was New Delhi, which was found to have pollution that was dangerous for some people on both of the days this week too.

In comparison, London's air quality was said to be 'good' during the same period.

Last month, the AFG reported that Hong Kong's ombudsman raised concerns over the pollution in the city, asking the government why it had not changed its objectives for the last 20 years.
